Media Education – Religious Studies – PSCD

This is a lesson that besides being cross curricular is also age appropriate for different aged students.
But, not only students but is suitable also for teachers, parents and all who are interested in creating and enjoying together a better World and life.

Lesson produced thanks to collaboration between Christine Gauci EO Media, Dunstan Hamilton EO PSCD, Kathleen Bonello EO Relgion, Antoinette Laferla EO Religion and Stephen Camilleri EO PSCD.

Thanks to a group effort of thinking and planning among a group of Education Officers and Mr Dunstan Hamiltion for creating lovely work sheets here is how to work out this lesson.

First of all think about the things that give you joy.
Think also of the lovely people who help you.
Where do you feel most at peace and calm?
What pictures , music or sound give you comfort?
Is it your favourite soft toy or going to the sea?
Do you enjoy a picnic with friends and family?
Who is your favourite friend or friends.
These are just some questions to begin with.

Now this is how this lesson should be worked out.
First of all download the work sheets. On the first page these is a link to the initial introductory video. https://youtu.be/7it5W1FVtTs

In between the worksheets there are two short clips you will enjoy seeing and different points.
They are there for discussion.

After one views the first clip one can go through the handouts, answering by drawing or writing in the spaces or shapes provided. The handouts should help ne reflect on Joy, peace and Love within our lives.

At the end students are to watch a second clip which will help them reflect on how the media can effect or portray love, peace and joy. A discussion should follow.

Please share the worksheets and video clips with your family and friends.

If you would like to open up the discussion with your teachers or send us comments please feel free to do so,
